Contry Hill Farm sits on 30-acres with beautiful hilltop views, next to a scenic apple orchard.

Located just 20 minutes from the Massachusetts border in Southern New Hampshire, the family run farm offers full board, horse training, riding lessons, and summer camp. A variety of clinicians come to Contry Hill year round, offering the equestrians interesting avenues to enjoy their equine.


The Facilities

  • Two beautiful New England barns, allowing you to ride in any weather

  • Four riding arenas

    • 60x120 ft. indoor arena with mirrors and a heated viewing room

    • 200' x 130' fenced and outdoor arena

    • A full size outdoor dressage ring

    • A large outdoor jumping ring with outdoor LED engineered lighting.

  • Cross-country course, miles of trails, and fields for galloping

  • 12x10 ft. matted stalls

  • 5x5 ft. tack cubicles for each boarder

  • 20-acres of pastures and a round pen

  • A wash stall with hot and cold running water

The Team

Contry Hill Farm is owned and operated by Emily Sumner and Derek Mathieu. With over 20 years of experience in horse care and management, they provide top-notch care and training.

Boarding Your Horse

Full Board

  • Daily turnout

  • Blanketing

  • 2-4 daily feedings

  • Free access to water

  • Stall cleaned daily

  • $925/month - Weekly lesson requirement or having your horse in the lesson program. Weekly lessons are charged separately from the board cost.

  • $1,200/month for board with 2 days of horse training a week

  • $1,500/month for board with 4-5 days of horse training a week

We offer REDUCED BOARD for scheduled help with chores or approved horses to be used in our lesson or summer camp program. Email to inquire.


Turnout

  • All day grass or dirt turnout: Winter 7:30am-3pm and Summer 3pm-7am

  • Paddocks cleaned daily (weather permitting)

  • Small groups or individual turnout

  • Run-in sheds

 Extra Fees

Trailering | Boarders are welcome to travel with the farm to any event. Costs may range from $50-200. Horses should load and travel well. Training is available if they do not.

Training | Boarders are welcome to train with Emily Sumner or to use an outside trainer at no additional cost. Arena availability should be confirmed before scheduling an outside trainer.

Farrier | The farm uses Roxy Hannett, Jesus Guzman, and Bill Duffy to trim and shoe all farm horses. Boarders may use the farm’s farrier or use their own.

Veterinarian | The farm uses Maureen Sullivan for all farm calls. Boarders may use the farm’s vet or use their own.
