2023 Halloween Horse Show

Sunday, October 29th 2023. Starts at 9AM. Classes are $15 each. $75 to enter in a division or ALL pairs’ classes. $10 post entry fee is charged for all entries not received by Thursday, October 26th proceeding the show.

Riders cannot cross enter divisions (Lead line, Walk trot, and Open) Classes may be split or combined at judge’s discretion.  All classes may be ridden English or Western. Costume classes are open to all levels and ages

 * Trail courses may be ridden and judged at any time throughout the day * Jumping and Barrel classes may run consecutive in different arenas to speed up class times


CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Lead line Division: this is for riders who have never competed in a walk trot division. Those in lead line are responsible for arranging with their instructor for their own handler/helper.
Walk Trot/jog Division: rider must not have competed in a canter class before.
Beginning canter Division: Rider or horse is beginning to canter
Open Division: Open to riders that are comfortable cantering.
Gamblers Choice: Riders have to jump all jumps once. The fastest time wins.
Ride and Run: Jump whole course on horseback and then jump fence 1, 2, 3 on your own feet. Fastest time wins.

Goblin Goblet: Riders have to carry a pre-measured cup of water while riding. Riders will be asked to walk and trot and hand their cup off to their partner! The rider holding the fullest cup in the end wins!
Broomstick relay: Riders race to pass off a broomstick to teammates, the fastest team wins!
Rescue Race: Riders ride to their partner, dismount and let the other riders ride to the finish line while leading. Howling Ribbon Run – Pairs of riders work to keep a piece of crate paper, the last pair holding it wins.
Dangling Donuts: Riders have to ride to a dangling donut, and eat it while still holding both reins!
Trail Class – Riders are timed and have to negotiate through a set number of obstacles. The rider to complete the most obstacles the fastest wins! Riders may practice and school obstacles before they are judged.

All riders, in all disciplines, regardless of age, are required to wear safety headgear with chin harness and heeled boots, at all times while mounted. NO EXCEPTIONS! Closed-toe shoes required when handling horses.

Post-entry Fee of $10 for all entries received after Thursday 26th. A Check MUST accompany the registration form to avoid paying the post entry fee.  Make Checks payable to: Contry Hill Farm.
